Ādolfs Irbīte is the author of more than a hundred radio designs while working at the State Electronic Factory (VEF), as well as the author of most of the radio production of the production association Radiotehnika in the 1960s and 1970s. His works include the most characteristic scenery and trends of all time, namely the streamlined shapes typical of the 1930s, "national decorativism" was included in the 1940s, and a dynamic anxiety in design was developed in the 1950s and 1960s. He has designed for such recognizable and popular radio brands as VEF AR, VEF TRIO, VEF SUPER, VEF LUX, VEFON and, of course, many others. Thus, in 1934, Adolf started working for VEF as a printer at the rotaprint advertising department. In the period from 1937 to 1941 he was the head of the VEF Advertising Bureau. The main responsibilities in the new position were design development, preparation of advertising publications, as well as installation of exhibition company shop windows. From 1956 to 1960, he was the main artist in the Artistic Design Department of VEF. However, from 1960 to 1983, he was the head of the artistic design department at the design office of the production association Radiotehnika, Orbīta. In 1945, in Liepāja, he worked as a garden architect and decorator at the City Garden and Greenery Department. The period 1952-1956. After working as a lecturer at the State Institute of Physical Culture (now the Latvian Academy of Sports Pedagogy), he was an artist in the magazine Physical Culture. It was not common in the Soviet Union to admit designers among artists as perceived as equal partners.
