On 19 December at 5 p.m. a charity auction of paintings to help the association “Dižvanagi” to implement the rehabilitation of seriously ill children will be held in the concert hall “Lielais dzintars” in Liepaja, as well as on the website of the auction house “Mākslas vēstniecība”. 27 famous Latvian artists, such as Džemma Skulme, Ieva Bondare, Elita Patmalniece, Ilze Avotiņa, Aivars Vilipsōns, Kristīne Luīze Avotiņa, Kristīne Kvitka, Alise Mediņa, Igo, artists associated with the foundation “Mākslai vajag telpu”, galleries “Pop Up”, “StartUpArt”, “Art Pegazs”, as well as artists from Liepāja will participate in the charity auction, selling their artistic works. All funds collected in the charity auction will be donated for the development of children's rehabilitation programmes – in palliative treatment, canis therapy, inclusive day camps, etc., to help these children in their severe daily struggle by giving the necessary support. During the recent seven years the association “Dižvanagi” has even expanded its activities outside Liepaja – also in the nearest regions and elsewhere in Latvia. The reach of the association covers over 200 families and 300 children who receive the services of the association. It provides a professional team of specialists, which includes both medical and social work specialists, psychologists and representatives of other areas in order to provide the client with a set of individually selected services according to their needs.
