Pauls Duskins (1928-1996)
Graphic artist, watercolour painter.
He worked almost in all prints forms and genres. He was an authority as graphic artist. He gave a significant contribution to technical development of rotogravure. Focused to the urban landscape. Lots of works in cold-worked needle technique. In Lithography he payed much attention to the color-use problems. He was well known as watercolour painter. Works are made by expressive colors and saturated emotion.
Born on 22nd July, 1928 .
Studied at the Latvian State University, Latvian Academy of Art Graphic Department (1952), graduated from Painting, Sculpture and Architecture Institute named I. Repin in Leningrad (Graphic Faculty). Diploma - etching cycle “In the Baltic coast” (1959 ).
Participated in exhibitions since 1953.
Notable solo exhibitions in Jurmala (1970th together with J. Kupcis), Riga (1976.together with E. Anderson, 1978, 1988), Gulbene (1979).
Member of Artist' Union since 1960.
Pauls Duskins died 29 November, 1996.
