Painted landscapes of small cities, rural landscapes and still-lifes. In 1930 deserved popularity for pictures with views of Krustpils, Jekabpils and Kraslava MARKETS.
Emma Baltmane was born on March 16, 1882 in Krustpils.
Studied at Mary’s School of Jekabpils where made excellent successes in drawing. The school has given support for studying at the Petersburg art academy, but parents were disagreed. She studied in Sergey Vinogradov’s Studio in Riga (1925-1927).
Since 1929 Emma Baltmane participated in exhibitions of the Group of Independed Artists. She was a member of the Latvian SSR Artists’ Union since 1945.
Posthumous solo exhibitions are organized in Jekabpils (1970, 1982).
Emma Baltmane died on December 16, 1969 in Krustpils.
